Chris Allen
Valley Baptist Church was planted and is pastored by Chris Allen. Chris grew up in church as the son of a pastor, and has seen every aspect of how a church functions (good and bad). Chris served his country as a United States Marine for four years as an Air-Traffic Controller, then went on to graduate from Calvary University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Bible.
He was ordained at the Harvest Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO, while serving there as Assistant Pastor, and later followed the guidance of the Lord to plant a church in Grain Valley.
Chris is married to Susan and together they have four grown boys with expanding families.
Susan was saved at the Harvest Baptist Church in Blue Springs, as a teen, and grew in the faith as she was discipled. Susan has worked in numerous ministries at church, including work as a teacher, counselor, mentor, small-group leader, discipleship guide, and in the worship and praise ministry as a member of the praise team and solo singer. Susan is professionally trained as a phlebotomist, and has made a career of assisting people with her compassionate care and tender touch as she draws their blood for laboratory tests. She loves all kinds of plants!
